Today I received mail from the Managing Director (I’ll refer to that as MD for my own convenience) of the Dutch office with a request: could you please introduce yourself to the MD of the office in Jakarta? Sure I can! I am happy to do so.. That’s why I wrote my introduction, trying to keep it short. It’s kind of weird to write the mail, because so far I have not been in contact with the Jakarta MD. Writing it in a very amicable way would there for be not right. On the other hand I believe I’ve been in contact with the company now for such an amount of time that I can lower the formal tone in my mail (the Dutch MD told me not to call him “U” all the time). Indonesian culture might be different though. I think the mail I have written will be a good compromise, also giving enough information about myself.
